2026 Regional Architecture Awards | Tāwhaki Nui a Hema – Motueka High School

Delighted to see Tāwhaki Nui a Hema – Motueka High School Maths & Horticulture Classroom Block recognised at the 2026 Regional Architecture Awards (Nelson/Marlborough).

Designed by Arthouse Architects in collaboration with Sheppard & Rout Architects, and delivered with Fitzgerald Construction Limited and Kaupapa Projects, the project was a genuine reflection of strong collaboration across the full team. Frequency served as Project Manager on the delivery of this important community asset for the Ministry of Education New Zealand.

Designed in response to place, the building is oriented toward the maunga, acknowledging the whenua and the deeper cultural and environmental narratives that shape Motueka and its surrounds.

Congratulations to everyone involved in delivering a project that will serve its community for generations.
