Delivered within a live rail environment, the works required meticulous staging to align with limited shutdown windows, maintaining safety and accessibility across busy commuter stations. Key elements included the coordination of specialist design partners, the procurement of long‑lead lift and escalator equipment, and the management of complex temporary works and approvals. Innovative solutions were developed with KiwiRail, including using a work train to deliver new escalator units directly into station platforms, streamlining installation and reducing operational impacts.

The programme enhances station accessibility and reliability, improving the passenger experience while supporting the ongoing performance of Auckland’s rail network.
